Solar Team off to Rocky Start

(CAMERON)  The Solar Arrow continues to experience problems, but made it to Ada, Oklahoma last night.  The race will take the solar challengers to Tulsa, Oklahoma in day 3 today.  The Solar Arrow was featured on Good Morning America early today.  According to the latest statistics, as of 7 a.m. today, ( http://www.wscinfo.org/statistics.asp )  The Solar Arrow is in last place, still reporting negative mileage.  A team is penalized if the car has to be trailered and carried to the day's destination.  Listen to KMIL each day between 8 and 9 a.m., and again between 4 and 5 p.m. for live updates from the Solar Arrow team.

Each of the cars are equipped with a GPS tracking unit.   Check this website periodically for updates  and log on to www.winstonsolar.org for tracking and race information.  Below are some of the other solar cars that are competing in the 2001 Winston Solar Challenge.
