8 Inducted Into Yoe Hall of Honor

(CAMERON)  Some 150 people from Cameron and cities across the state attended Hall of Honor 2001 presentation of lifetime achievement awards to eight graduates of Yoe High School during ceremonies Saturday afternoon at the Lester and Beatrice Williams Civic Center.

Wayne Fisher of Houston and Gause served as master of ceremonies. He was assisted by Mark Humble of Cameron.  Drayton McLane, a 2000 inductee,  was also scheduled to help with the program, however his Houston Astros were involved in a pennant race in St. Louis.

Honorees in 2001 are Howard L. Terry of Houston, Class of 1934; T.J. O’Neill, M.D., of Austin, Class of 1948; Ronald Hudson, Ph.D., of Austin, Class of 1950; Glenn vonRosenberg of Waco, Class of 1952; Franklin D. Moore, Ph.D., of Star Tannery, VA, Class of 1957; Raymond J. Batla, Jr., attorney, of Clifton, VA, Class of 1965; Mike W. Perrin, attorney, of Houston, Class of 1965; and Kathryn Kahler Vose of Washington, D.C., Class of 1973.

Last year’s Hall of Honor inductees were Maj. William G. Gillis, Class of 1935; Fred T. Johns, Class of 1950; Drayton McLane, Jr., Class of 1954; Wayne Fisher, Class of 1955; and Danny R. Kelley, O.J. Thomas Class of 1965.

Agnes and Jerry Kostroun served refreshments.  The Civic Center was decorated by Kay Moraw.  Main Printing provided the printing services.  Healy Manufacturing, Inc. of Menomonee Falls, WI, manufactured the plaques.  

C.H. and Caroline Yoe Foundation is a community foundation designed to serve the common good of Cameron and Milam County.
