Cameron Man Killed in Fog Related Accident |

A Cameron man was killed early today in a 1 vehicle rollover that wasnt
discovered for some 8 hours later. Weldon Dwayne Moore, age 20, was
pronounced dead at the scene around 2:15 p.m. today by Pct. 3 JP Twila
Harris. The accident happened at the intersection of Farm Roads 1600 and
487 nine miles south of Cameron. Investigating Trooper Jimmy Morgan placed
the time of the accident at around 6 a.m. Morgan said dense fog was
a contributing factor. Moore was southbound on FM 1600 and was not wearing
a seat belt when he ran through the FM 487 intersection, struck a fence
and plowed into a wooded area where the vehicle rolled four times,
ejecting Moore. The vehicle came to rest in an area surrounded by
dense trees, and was not visible from the roadway (above).
The accident wasnt discovered until around 2 p.m. by a passing
motorist. The body was taken to Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in
Cameron. Services are pending.
Moore is the 7th traffic fatality of the year in Milam County. |
