(Buckholts)  The opening night of the 1st Buckholts "Hee-Haw" Show was a big hit in Central Texas on Friday, as more than 300 people packed into the Buckholts SPJST Hall to help raise money for the Buckholts Volunteer Fire Department, who is trying to raise money for an additional truck for the department.

The Show featured a similar format as the popular TV show which aired nationally in the 70s.  Former Milam County Highway Patrolman and Texas Ranger Milton Wright, who is now the County Sheriff in Fort Bend County provided music with his band which featured several Milam County natives, who played with Wright in a polka band in Cameron at one time.  Gary Klepas (pictured above) served as emcee for the night and helped organize the event.
