The Seaton Brethren Church annual sausage supper fundraiser will be held Saturday, February 16th, from 3PM until the sausage is gone. The menu consists of homemade pork sausage, sauerkraut, new potatoes, seasoned green beans, bread, homemade desserts and tea or coffee. Dine in or drive thru plates will be available for $10 each. The supper is at Seaton Star Hall, 10842 State Hwy 53, Temple (Seaton). There will be a bake sale consisting of kolaches, pies, cakes, strudels, other baked goods & jellies; a raffle and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit the ministry of the church, community and other projects. The public is invited.
The Youth Leaders collective known as Ministerial Volunteer Program (MVP) will be launching their 2019 Capital Campaign during the months of January and February. MVP is a collective of Jesus-centered student ministries uniting to connect students to the Gospel Message. From 5th Quarters to Baccalaureate services to 3 Outs and Resource Events, MVP uses outreach events and partnerships with the local church and community to further enrich the lives of the students around Milam County. A new addition to the calendar is the Silver Ring Thing UNALTERED Tour: an event proclaiming God’s design for love, sex and life and inspiring teens to live with integrity and influence. MVP will be hosting the UNALTERED Tour on Wednesday, February 20th, at the Cameron ISD Performing Arts Center at 7PM for all Milam County students FREE of charge. AMAZING GRACE THRIFT SHOP on Hwy 36 at the caution light in Buckholts is a non-profit organization that has clothes and shoes priced at 50 cents. They also have household items, books, baby items, etc. The group relies on donations to make this a ministry of God’s grace and will use the money for scholarships, school functions, and other community projects that God puts in their hearts. MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month Sept. - May at the First Baptist Church in Rockdale at 9:30am. MOPS is open to any mother with children aged birth - kindergarten. Meetings include breakfast, devotion, speakers, and crafts. Child care is provided. Dues are $25 in the fall and $25 in the spring.
