(MILAM COUNTY) Law enforcement across Texas will increase their patrols during the next couple of weeks.
Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore said his department is taking part in the Click It or Ticket campaign through June 4th. Troopers, deputies, and law enforcement across the state will be looking for motorists not wearing seatbelts. This campaign reminds Texans to buckle up day and night, front seat or back, every time they get in a vehicle. Your seat belt is the single most effective safety device in your vehicle. Your seat belt is designed to keep you from being thrown into the dashboard or windshield—or even onto the road. Driver or passenger, front seat or back, state law requires everyone in the vehicle to be buckled up. Not buckling up could cost you up to $200 in court costs and fines. Or even worse, it could cost you your life.
