AWARDS HIGHLIGHT CHAMBER BANQUET (CAMERON) Awards highlighted the 71st Annual Cameron Chamber of Commerce Banquet. Outgoing President Sarah Kostroun presented the
awards including the Outstanding Citizen Award. (Willyne Stanislaw, pictured left) (Audio) Receiving the Outstanding Volunteer award was high school student Michael Dohnalik who was recognized for 10 years of constant chamber volunteer work. Organization of the year went to the Williams Foundation. Board members Mike Zajicek and Amy Elliott Poe were on hand to accept the award. Donald Shuffield was recognized as Outstanding Chamber Member. And Ideal Poultry of Cameron was given the Outstanding Business Award.
Kostroun also thanked the community for her opportunity to serve as President. (Audio) Chamber manger Brandy McLerran talked about the rain soaked events of 2004, and the two new annual events that were added last year. (Audio) Retiring directors were recognized. They are Julie Sulak, Margie Barkemeyer, Gary Fuchs, Carolyn Hux and Janet Sheguit. And new President for 2005-2006, Maurice Goza was introduced. Entertainment was provided by be master magician Cody Fisher. Dinner music was provided the Cameron Jr. High Jazz Band. Master of Ceremonies was Ed Magre. And the meal was catered by Jerry and Agnes Kostroun. More than 300 people attended the annual banquet at the Cameron VFW. |
