2ND MINERVA BEATING VICTIM DIES (CAMERON) The Milam County Sheriff's Office received information from Judge David Barefield, of Bell County that Preston "Pete" Durell Solomon, 59 of Minerva died early today at Scott & White Hospital. Solomon had been in the hospital since 2/1/2005 with massive head injuries stemming from the incident on the same date in Minerva which left his 22 year old step-daughter dead. (See Story) Ben Contreras, 41 of Hearne was charged in the death of Stephanie Young and the Attempted Murder of Solomon and his wife Marian Gail Solomon also of Minerva. Solomon's body will be sent to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Science at Dallas, Texas for an autopsy. With the death of Solomon, Contreras now faces the charge of Capital Murder. The case is being reviewed by District Attorney Kerry Spears. |
