ACCIDENT KILLS CALDWELL MAN

(BRANCHVILLE)  A Caldwell man was killed and 5 others injured in a 1-vehicle rollover last night on FM 485 just east of Branchville.  Pronounced dead at the scene was 26 year old Warren Dale Gable.  Injured was the driver, Felipe Hernandez Perez, 26 of Bryan, and passengers Norman Lamar Gable, 27, Pedro Hernandez Perez, 35; Jose Luis Cruz, 30; and Jose Julio Avitud-Segura, 26, all of Bryan

The windshield of the Suburban struck this guard rail post as it rolled into the bar ditch.

According to investigating Troopers David Yarbrough and Jimmy Morgan, The men were traveling east on FM 485 in a Chevrolet Suburban when they swerved to the right to miss a cow in the road.  Then overcorrected and struck a guard rail and began to roll.  4 of the men were ejected from the suburban.  One of the injured was transported from the scene by Critical Air.  

The accident happened around 7:15 p.m.  Cameron Fire rescue and several EMS units along with Critical Air and the Milam County Sheriff’s Department responded.

Just minutes after the accident, another accident occurred involving the cow in the road.  No one was hurt.  Trooper Jimmy Morgan investigated.

Gable is Milam County’s 2nd traffic fatality of 2005.

(Above and Below)  4 occupants including the deceased, were thrown from the Suburban as it rolled.  The vehicle landed upright, but sustained extensive damage.
