GROUND-BREAKING HELD FOR NEW LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER

(CAMERON)  Work has already begun on the new Milam County Law Enforcement Center in Cameron with partial demolition of the old Newton Hospital building.  Meanwhile, ground-breaking ceremonies were held Thursday with a number of officials on hand including members of the Milam County Commissioners’ Court, the Jail Committee, and area Law Enforcement Officials.  Milam County Sheriff Charlie West (pictured left) (Audio)

Also during the ceremony, Milam County Judge Frank Summers thanked those who gave their time and effort to make the new law enforcement center a reality.  (Audio)

Earlier this month, the commissioners court accepted a maximum guaranteed price of 7 million, 834 thousand dollars from the county’s construction manager EBCO General Contractor.  The Law Enforcement Center is expected to be ready in about a year.
