(CAMERON) The Cameron Volunteer Fire Department hosted their annual Ladies Night and Awards Banquet Friday at the Williams Civic Center in Cameron. The late Thomas Harwell, long-time Cameron Fire Chief, was honored during the banquet. Harwell died July 7th of this year, only 3 weeks after being elected President of the State Fireman's and Fire Marshall's Association. Harwell was a 30-year member of the Association. He had served on the Association’s executive board for 5 years, and served as Fire Chief for 19 years. His son David and grandson A.J. Harwell accepted a Memorial Plaque honoring Harwell and his years of service. |
