MAJOR ACCIDENT SHUTS DOWN LONG BRIDGE (CAMERON) Law enforcement officers and emergency crews worked numerous accidents here in the county throughout the night Wednesday and early Thursday. Most of the accidents were minor, however a major accident occurred Wednesday afternoon just after 5 p.m. on the Little River Bridge just east of Cameron. At least 3 vehicles sustained extensive damage in the multi-vehicle pile-up, and numerous injuries were reported. As many as 6 vehicles were involved. The accident shut down traffic in both directions for more than an hour as the accident scene was cleared. Cameron Fire rescue and EMS responded along with Cameron Police, Milam County Sheriffs Office and the Texas Highway Patrol. |
